Agency, 5 October. A cameraman has been killed and a director injured in a shooting at a ‘Rust’ movie set in New Mexico. It is understood that the real bullet came out of a fake gun in the incident.
According to CNN, the film’s cameraman Helena Hutchins, 42, was killed in the incident. Director Joel Suja is being treated at the hospital.
Actor Alec Baldwin’s prop gun was shot on the set of the movie ‘Rust’. He turned his shotgun on himself when apprehended by a police officer on the porch of the house where the shootings took place, police said.
Actor Baldwin told news agencies that the gun used for the shooting was misfired. No complaint has been registered against him so far. Although real weapons are used during the shooting of Hollywood films, bullets are not used. There is only the impression of being shot or using a weapon.
