Bhajani, Nov. 19: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that initiatives will be taken to solve the problem of floods and inundation in a long-term manner. While inspecting the flood damage in the forest area of Tikapur Municipality-8 in Kailali on Friday, Prime Minister Deuba said that a plan would be worked out to solve the problem of floods and inundation in a long-term manner.
“Currently, there is a lot of damage due to floods, landslides and inundation. Immediate relief, rescue and sympathy for the people are needed during this disaster. The government is already engaged in that, ”said Prime Minister Deuba.“ After that, the government will move forward with a plan for long-term relief. ” He said that the government would make a long-term plan to manage the floods and inundation in Kailali every year.
Stating that the financial loss caused by the disaster has been directly inspected, Prime Minister Deuba assured that the government would immediately move ahead by making a plan to solve the current problem as the situation of the affected areas has been closely monitored.
A team comprising Prime Minister Deuba, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma, Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Prem Ale inspected the flood-hit areas of Kailari, Bhajani, Tikapur and Janaki in Kailali today.
Thousands of families have been displaced in Tikapur Municipality and Janaki Village, which were most affected by the floods in Kailali, while hundreds of bighas of crops and vegetables have been completely destroyed.
