Twelve arrested from playing den in Parsa


5 October, Parsa. Police have arrested 12 gamblers from Parsagadhi Municipality.

A team from the Temporary Police Post Manawa and the District Police Office have arrested 12 people while they were gambling at Nandalal Das’s cowshed in Barewa of Parsagadhi Municipality-9.

Among the arrested are Koshia Thakur, 30, of Parsagadhi Municipality-3, Birendra Sahani, 26, of Parsagadhi Municipality-3, Suresh Sah, 29, of Parsagadhi Municipality-3, Govardhan Ram, 24, of Parsagadhi Municipality-1, Motilal Chaudhary, 36, of Parsagadhi Municipality-2 and Sakhuwaparsauni. The deceased has been identified as Pramod Ojhaiya, 32, of Gaonpalika-1.

Similarly, Dinesh Das Tharu, 34, of Sakhuwa Prasauni Gaupalika-1, Rakesh Khwas Tharu, 36, of Sakhuwa Prasauni-1, Jwala Giri, 25, of Patervasugauli Gaonpalika-1, Nandu Mukhiya, 30, of Jitpur Simra Sub-Metropolis-7 and Pramod, 22, of Jitpur Simra Sub-Metropolis-7 The deceased has been identified as Anil Jaiswal, 25, of Simraungadh Municipality-1, police said.

Police have recovered 171,000 rupees in cash and 17 books from them. According to Omprakash Khanal, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Parsa, the investigation is underway under the guise of gambling against the public interest, health, security, facilities and ethics.
