Cricket International Cup: Sri Lanka enters Tremendous 12 with 3rd win

Kathmandu, 6 October. Sri Lanka have entered the Super 12 with their third consecutive victory in the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup. Sri Lanka entered the Super 12 as the group winners after defeating the Netherlands by eight wickets in a match played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Friday night.

Sri Lanka completed the 45-run target set by the Netherlands by losing 2 wickets in 7 overs. In Sri Lanka’s victory, Kushal Perera remained unbeaten on 33 while Abhishek Fernando remained unbeaten on two.
Charith Asalanka returned to the pavilion for 6 runs while opener Pathum Nisanka was dismissed for zero runs.

Brandon Glover and Paul Van of the Netherlands took one wicket each. Earlier, the Netherlands were bowled out for 44 in 10 overs. Colin Eckerman of Netherlands scored 11 runs. Similarly, Ben Cooper was out for 9 runs. Captain Peter Seelar added two runs and Scott Edward added eight runs.

Lahiru Kumara and Vanindu Hasaranga de Silva took three wickets apiece to wrap up the Netherlands cheaply. Mahesh Thiksana took 2 wickets while Dushmantha Chamira took 1 wicket. Sri Lanka, who are in Group A with the win, have added six points in three games. From this group, Namibia has entered the Super 12 by becoming the runner-up with 4 points.Photo: Agency
