October 6, Surkhet. Ammar Bahadur Thapa of Dailekh has been given the responsibility of CPN (Unified Socialist) Karnali State Chairman.
Thapa was given the responsibility of the state chairperson from the party’s central committee meeting held on Friday. Thapa is currently the Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Urban Development in the Karnali state government.
Thapa, who was elected as a member of the state assembly from Dailekh, had given a vote of confidence to Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi by crossing the floor on April 19 while he was still in the UML. After that, four people who crossed the floor with him lost their parliamentary seats. As Thapa is not currently an MP, his term as a minister is coming to an end in a few days.
The Samajwadi Party has earlier given the responsibility of Karnali state in-charge to Prakash Jwala.
Similarly, Chandra Bahadur Shahi, Hans Shahi and Sher Bahadur KC have been given the responsibility of state co-incharge while Thagendra Puri has been given the responsibility of secretary.
