The celebration has turn out to be unlawful, it has survived beneath the watchful eye of the Election Fee: Ram Chandra Poudel

6 October, Kathmandu. Senior Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel has remarked that the party has lost its legitimacy and is now living under the watchful eye of the Election Commission.

Speaking at a program organized in Kailali on Saturday, Poudel said that the current central working committee of the party has lost its legitimacy as per the party constitution and the country’s constitution.

He said that the term of the Central Committee has been fixed at four years in the party’s constitution and in exceptional cases it can be extended for another year but that time has already been fulfilled.

The party constitution has fixed a term of four years. In exceptional cases, a maximum of one year can be added, but that too is gone. According to the constitution, we have become illegal, ”he said.

According to Poudel, the constitution also stipulates that political parties should convene a general convention within five years and six months, but the Congress has passed that period as well. He said that the Congress has survived all the avenues of legitimacy and is now living under the watchful eye of the Election Commission.

Stating that he had talked to the Commissioner of the Election Commission only on Saturday, Poudel said that he had received information that action could be taken if the new leadership was not selected by holding the election from November 26 to 27. “The election process has moved forward in November. We are waiting for that date. After that, we are not going to call the big party a small party, there will be no exemption, ”said Poudel.

He also said that the party may be deprived of the upcoming election if new office bearers are not elected by December 27. ‘Playing ticket distribution by keeping the party illegal? Dreaming like this Nepal should be protected from this trend, ”said Poudel. Poudel said that this situation came about in the party due to the chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba.
