Morang, 6 October: Foreign Minister Dr. Narayan Khadka has said that there is a possibility of forming a government in Province No. 1 under the leadership of Nepali Congress.
Talking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport today, he said that a decision on who would form the government would be taken after a vote of confidence on Sunday. Minister Khadka said that Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba would decide on the ‘package’ of the state government on the basis of discussion and consensus among the coalition parties participating in the government.
He informed that a proposal has been made to lead the party in Province No. 1 and Bagmati for half term but no decision has been taken yet. Minister Khadka said that the MCC would be passed by consensus as there was no majority of the NC.
Minister Khadka said that the National Census Office would make arrangements for the census in Lipulek area according to its work. In response to a question, he said that “early elections” were not possible immediately but could be held in April if consensus was reached between the ruling coalition parties.
