UML ward conference being held, Vice-Chairman Rawal disagrees


Kathmandu, Nov. 22: District level conventions are being held across the country today under the tenth national general convention of the CPN (UML). The ward convention will be inaugurated by the party’s president KP Sharma Oli through virtual media and will be ‘displayed’ in ward programs with internet access.

The UML central office has already completed the preparations for the convention. Similarly, a convention will be held at all Palika levels on October 25. The party has convened a meeting of the standing committee on November 26 and a meeting of the central committee on November 28 to decide the criteria for the UML delegates to participate in the general convention. The tenth general convention of the CPN-UML will be held in Chitwan, Bagmati province from November 29 to 30. Those who have become party members by mid-April 2077 BS have been made eligible to become delegates to the General Convention.

Electronic voting machines will be used for election purposes at the UML General Convention in Chitwan. A meeting of the UML Standing Committee on Friday appointed Surendra Pandey as the co-coordinator of the 21-member core management committee and Bishnu Rimal as the secretary and some other members of the committee.

Vice President Rawal’s disagreement

In the meeting, the coordinator of the 10-point proposal implementation facilitation task force Dr. Expressing dissatisfaction over the non-implementation of the 10-point proposal, Bhim Bahadur Rawal has announced his resignation from the post of coordinator. Talking to reporters after the meeting, he said that he would resign in writing as he had submitted a report with suggestions for the implementation of the proposal. The party’s vice-chairman Rawal said that a difference of opinion was registered in the meeting as there was no proposal to nominate 10 percent in the central committee and only two central members were proposed.
