Kathmandu, 7 October. Bal Gopal Maharjan, head coach of the Nepali national U-23 football team, said that Nepal was ready for a good result in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers.
Speaking at a pre-match conference in Tajikistan today (Sunday), head coach Maharjan said this. He said, “Even if the opposition team is good, they will do their best for the result.”
Coach Maharjan also said that the team could not prepare enough due to the clean championship. Likewise, captain and goalkeeper Arpan Karki said that they have prepared well and are ready for tough competition.
Nepal is in Group B in the selection. Nepal’s group includes Tajikistan, Lebanon and Iran. Nepal is competing with Iran in the first match of the group stage on Monday. In preparation, the Nepali team played a friendly match against the U-23 team of Indonesia on Friday in which Nepal lost 2-0.
