UML conference: Ghanshyam Bhushal’s celebration candidate defeated in his personal constituency


October 11, Butwal. CPN (UML) Deputy General Secretary and Federal MP from the same constituency Ghanshyam Bhushal’s three candidates have lost in the Siddharthnagar Municipal Convention.

Another Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Poudel’s candidate Chakra Bahadur Thapa has won the election from the city convention.

Thapa defeated Thaneshwor Poudel by a margin of 104 votes. Out of 223 votes, Thapa got 161 votes while Poudel got only 57 votes.

Similarly, Arjun Kumar Giri of Poudal faction has also won the post of vice-president. While she got 187 votes, Laxmi KC of Bhushal party got 34 votes.

Narayan Prasad Bhandari of Paudal faction defeated Manoj Kumar Rijal of Bhushal faction by 154 votes. Bhandari has joined UML from the UCPN (Maoist) center.

Even in Tilottama, the Bhushal faction was not in the lead

In Tilottama, the hometown of Ghanshyam Bhushal, he has been sidelined from the leadership of the party candidate city committee.

Another Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Poudel’s party Tamnath Pandey has been elected in the convention.

Bhushal’s candidate Surendra Shree has been sidelined. Surendra Shree had stood by Bhushal even after the UML split from the CPN (Maoist) dispute.

Surendra Shree Savik is the UML regional committee secretary and currently the executive member and spokesperson of the municipality.

Pandey is the chairman of Ward No. 1. Netra Ban, who is claiming to be the chairman, has been made the vice-chairman and Min Prasad Pokhrel has been made the secretary.

Pokharel was also the secretary before this. Both are pro-Oli. Ganesh Upadhyay and Sangita Gurung have been selected for the two deputy secretaries, said Mohan Chapagain, a member of the UML Rupendehi secretariat and head of the publicity department.

Chapagain said that the leadership was elected unopposed after trying to reach a consensus for two days. UML has stated that it has agreed to include Surendra Shree in the district working committee.
