After receiving the information, Amatya had lodged a complaint with the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police a decade ago. Accordingly, the Bureau has arrested five persons a few weeks ago for investigation into the theft of government documents.
Among the arrested are Sonu Thakur, loan officer of the bank, Rajesh Chaurasia, appraiser, SK Maharjan, Muktilal Gautam and Kusum Pradhan, who became the owner of the fake land.
In a statement to the police, Maharjan and Gautam, who own fake land, said that they too were trapped. They have said that ‘Pradhan has drowned them’. Detailed investigation is underway.
