Lalitpur and Dhangadhi input semifinals in Deputy Mayor’s Cup soccer


October 23, Kathmandu.

Lalitpur Metropolitan City and Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City have entered the semi-finals of the ongoing Deputy Mayor’s Cup National Women’s League selection competition in the capital by winning today’s match.

In the match played at the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) headquarters in Lalitpur, Lalitpur defeated Mofosal’s team Shivatakshi Municipality 4-0 to make it to the last four. Lalitpur, who dominated from the start, scored four goals in the first half.

Captain Nirmala BK scored a hat trick as Lalitpar made it to the last four. Nirmala took the lead in the sixth minute, adding a second in the 22nd minute and a third in the 35th minute. Similarly, Manisa Shane scored the fourth goal in the 43rd minute to give the team a 4-0 lead in the first half. After that, neither team scored any more goals in the second half and Lalitpur secured a place in the last four.

In the second match of the day, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan Municipality scored a goal against Bansgadhi Municipality and made it to the last four. Dhangadhi secured a place in the last four with a 12-1 victory over Bansgadhi. Dhangadhi scored 7 goals in the first half and 5 goals in the second half.

The winner Shivasatakshi will compete with the winners of Godavari Municipality Kailali and Kankai Municipality Jhapa for the final entry. The clash of these two teams is taking place tomorrow. The first game of the day will be between Gauri Ganga Municipality Kailali and Rong Village Municipality of Ilam and Godavari Municipality Kailali and Kankai Municipality Jhapa. The winners and runners-up of the competition will be selected in the Women’s National League.
