Dry landslide in Solu hall, exchange of go with the flow of Dudhkoshi river

October 24, Kathmandu. The flow of Dudhkoshi River has changed due to dry landslide in Manebhanjyang Gaonpalika Ward No. 3 of Okhaldhunga under Solu Corridor.

According to Medal Rai, chairperson of Ward No. 3, the flow of the river has changed after a 25-meter-wide landslide fell on Dudhkoshi. He said the Ribdom settlement could be at risk if landslides are not stopped.

There is Sodu river between wards 1 and 2 of Savik. Dudhkoshi falls along the same river. That’s where the landslide fell. The landslide has changed the flow of the river and flowed through the forest area towards Halesi Tuvachung Municipality of Khotang. Another landslide could put about 12 houses in Ribdum at risk, ‘he said.

Okhaldhunga Police Chief Govinda Kafle said that he had learned from the media that the landslide had occurred and the river had been blocked.

After incessant rains in Dashainta, a landslide was falling near a place called Umbuko Chunai in Solu Corridor. The dry landslide that has changed the flow of Dudhkoshi river since Tuesday.

Residents of Waksa, Moli, Siddhicharan, Halesi and Rawabesi areas have been affected due to the landslide. Chairman of Ward No. 3 Rai said that the landslide had made it difficult for the residents of the area to reach the main market Jayaramghat.
