High Minister’s problem to the previous king: If you wish to rule, come and struggle the election

October 24, Kathmandu. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has warned former King Gyanendra Shah not to go against the republican system of governance.

Speaking at a program organized by Ganeshman Smriti Shanti Pratishthan at Shantibatika on Wednesday morning, Prime Minister Deuba has challenged Shah to contest the election if he is to rule.

He told Gyanendra Shah that he was ready to hand over everything except democracy, but recalling that he had been coached in prison, Deuba said, “The atmosphere of republic has started since then.”

“If you want to rule, come and fight elections. Democracy has that facility,” Deuba said. “Don’t go against the rule of law.”

Stating that he has some dissatisfaction with the constitution, Deuba said that he will continue to improve it.

In the program, the foundation honored Professor Khagendra Bhattarai of Tribhuvan University with a gold medal.
