October 24, Dhangadhi. Police have arrested at least six people in connection with the murder of a youth in Tikapur, Kailali on Tuesday night.
According to Kailali Chief Superintendent of Police (SP) Bishwa Adhikari, three persons present at the spot and three others were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the murder of Bhupendra Baduwal of Lamki Chuha Municipality-1.
SP Adhikari said that Rawal, his wife and a son were taken into custody for investigation after a scooter used by Mahesh, son of Harka Bahadur Rawal, manager of Sangam Hotel in Chisapani, was found at the spot. He said that they were searching for Rawal’s other son Navin as he was absconding.
According to the police, Rawal had an argument with Major Ashok Jung Shahi of the Nepal Army’s Far Western Pratna Training School in Gorange on Sunday.
A clash took place between the two groups in Tikapur on Tuesday night over the same issue. Bhupendra Baduwal of Lamkichuha Municipality-1 was stabbed to death during the clash.
Though the police have released the identities of the Sangam Hotel operator, his wife and son Mahesh, the names of the other three have not been disclosed.
Relatives of the aggrieved victim also tried to vandalize the Sangam Hotel on Wednesday morning. However, police said that they returned after explaining. Relatives of the deceased have blocked the East-West Highway in protest of the killing.
