Kathmandu. Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabra is ready to resign with conditions. He is ready to resign with sweeping reforms in the judiciary, but has offered to be accepted by all judges.
According to reliable sources, Jabbar has demanded that all the judges of the Supreme Court should resign and the judges appointed on the basis of political affiliation under the then Chief Justices Kalyan Shrestha and Sushila Karki should also resign en masse. He has demanded that the incumbent judges, former chief justices and judges should make their property details public.
It is understood that through some of the judges who refused to sit in the courtroom, Jabbar has sent a proposal that he is ready for a comprehensive reform of the judiciary and that everyone should pave the way for that. Citing a source close to the prime minister’s statement, a source close to the PM said, “Let’s pave the way for the resignation of 80 judges and 11 judges who have already been appointed to the high court.”
