Rohit Sharma to captain India in T20 collection in opposition to New Zealand

Kathmandu. After Virat Kohli relinquished the captaincy of the T20 team, Rohit Sharma will be captaining India in the upcoming T20 series against New Zealand.

The BCCI on Tuesday announced a team of 16 players under Rohit’s captaincy. In which KL Rahul is the vice-captain.

This will be India’s first series under new head coach Rahul Dravid.

Ravi Shastri, who has just completed his tenure as India’s coach along with Kohli, also said that Rohit Sharma was a contender for the new captaincy. But for the time being, the BCCI has only appointed Rohit as the captain for the series against New Zealand. There is no mention in the BCCI statement about making him the full-time captain.

India will play a three-match T20 series against New Zealand starting on November 17.

Along with Virat, Jaspreet Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja have been rested for the T20 series against New Zealand.
