Trust that Chhath pageant will toughen mutual cohesion

October 24, Kathmandu. On the occasion of Chhath, President Bidyadevi Bhandari, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and others have wished all Nepalis on the occasion.

Expressing confidence that this festival would further strengthen the mutual unity, they urged to celebrate this festival with joy by adhering to the standards of public health as there is still a risk of corona infection.

In the congratulatory message issued by President Vidyadevi Bhandari, it is mentioned that Chhath festival will help to further strengthen national unity by deepening the spirit of mutual unity, harmony and brotherhood in the geographically, socially and culturally diverse society.

Stating that Chhath is a fundamental festival of the world, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun expressed confidence that this festival would further strengthen harmony and unity among all Nepalis.

Similarly, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba also wished that the Chhath festival would inspire and deepen the spirit of mutual harmony and tolerance.

In his congratulatory message issued on the occasion of Chhath festival, he termed Chhath festival as an exemplary festival which promotes harmony and unity.

Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has also wished all Nepalis on the occasion of Chhath.

He said that Nepal, a beautiful country full of multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-cultural and multi-religious diversity, has succeeded in becoming an indivisible and united nation despite having its own background of various festivals.

He also appealed to the people to observe the festival by following all the standards of health care as the Corona terror is still going on.

In the past, especially in the Terai region, Chhath festival has now spread across Nepal as a common festival with a unique identity.

The government has given a public holiday across the country today on the occasion of Chhath festival celebrated by worshiping the sun. After worshiping the setting sun today and the rising sun tomorrow, Chhath begins on Kartik Shukla Chaturthi.
