Police have arrested an Indian national from Tribhuvan International Airport along with half a kilo of gold smuggled in Ladwa. According to SSP Rajesh Nath Bastola of the Airport Security Office, Mohammed Zuhaewal of Uttar Pradesh, India, was arrested from Dubai on a Flydubai flight.

Police have recovered half a kilo of gold hidden in a mall by the police on the basis of a tip-off that they had brought gold from Dubai. Zubed, who hails from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh, had brought the gold by using an X-ray machine without reading it.

Mohammad Zuweed, 42, has undergone a medical examination at Kathmandu Medical College in Sinamangal. He hid two lumps of gold in the mud and brought it.

In collaboration with the police and customs, the gold being smuggled out of his possession has been recovered. It is said that he brought it hidden in ‘Ladwa’. After clearing the customs and leaving, the police were shocked to see his fight on the way to Arrival. The body was found during a checkpoint, ‘said SSP Rajesh Banstola, chief of the airport security office.

Banstola added, ‘Gold is approximately half a kilo. It has 545 grams including plastic. It has been submitted to the customs. The customs will carry out the measurement and necessary action.
