Kathmandu. The government has started the process of distributing cash grants to around 500,000 extremely poor households. The government has recently issued Cash Transfer Procedure 2078 for the extremely poor families affected by the Kovid-19 epidemic.
The Ministry of Finance has requested to apply for cash at the local level. According to the information issued by Arthal on Thursday, the application has to be submitted within 15 days at the local level of permanent residence or temporary residence for at least 6 months.
According to the procedure, only households that have lost income due to COVID-19 and have not received any source of income till the date of application will get the grant.
The government is going to provide one-time cash subsidy of Rs 10,000 per family on the basis of certain criteria as a relief to 500,000 extremely poor families in the informal and unorganized sector who have lost their jobs and income due to the impact of COVID-19.
Eligible households will be able to withdraw money through their own commercial bank or development bank or finance company. According to the working procedure, the workers of unorganized sector who have completely lost their previous employment and have not been able to get another employment opportunity will get the facility.
Cash grants will also be given to the poorest businessmen who sell goods on open roads, sidewalks or in the open field, porters, agricultural laborers, shepherds, farmers, wage laborers, rickshaw pullers, wheelbarrow laborers, public transport laborers and tourist laborers. News factory
