Demonstration in Butwal challenging go back of petroleum value hike

October 25, Butwal. Students have staged a protest in Butwal against the Nepal Oil Corporation’s fuel price hike from Thursday night.

Students took to the streets on Friday morning, demanding the return of the price hike, led by the UML-affiliated ANNISU-WU.

The corporation has increased the price of diesel, petrol and kerosene by Rs 3 per liter and LP gas by Rs 75 per cylinder.

Secretary of UNHCR Rupendehi, Prakash Parajuli, said that the highway has been closed since 9 am to put pressure on the government to return the price hike as the government is trying to hurt the people by increasing the price of fuel.
