Kathmandu, October 9: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has participated in the 12th National Census Campaign. The Prime Minister’s family data has been collected by the enumerators of the Statistics Department at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar today.
Dhundi Raj Lamichhane, director of the Central Statistics Office, informed the media that a positive message had been conveyed to the general public by conducting the census of the Prime Minister. He said that the President and the Prime Minister also take part in the census in a great campaign like the national census and the data was taken to give a symbolic message that there should be public participation in the campaign.
According to Director Lamichhane, the director general of the department has collected the family details of the prime minister. The Secretary of the National Planning Commission briefed Prime Minister Deuba about the census and its impact on every sector.
The 12th National Census-2078 BS has started from today by collecting the first details of President Vidyadevi Bhandari. After the president, the prime minister has been counted. A nationwide census has been started from today. The National Census Campaign will be a 15-day program starting from November 10 to November 26 and enumerators will reach every Nepali’s doorstep and count.
The department has used technology to ensure that no one is left out of the census. Counting will be done through diplomatic missions abroad. According to the department, the census will be conducted in Limpiyadhura of Darchula by coordinating through diplomatic initiatives or by alternative methods. RASAS Photo: Roshan Sapkota
