October 28, Kathmandu. Law practitioners, who have been protesting for the past two years, are holding a sit-in today in preparation for stopping Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabra at the main entrance of the Supreme Court.
Last Friday, legal practitioners staged a protest against the entry of Chief Justice Jabbar. But Jabra entered the Supreme Court through another gate.
Chandeshwar Shrestha, president of the Nepal Bar Association, who has been leading the movement of legal practitioners, said that a sit-in would be held at the main entrance of Chief Justice Jabra from 9:30 am to 11:30 am today.
Nepal Bar has been protesting with black bandages on its hands since November 29 demanding Jabra’s resignation after he became involved in the distribution of cabinet members.
Supreme Court justices are also in favor of Chief Justice Jabbar’s resignation. The judges who opposed Jabra did not even sit in the courtroom he had appointed.
