Demonstration with gasoline cylinders towards value hike


October 28, Kathmandu. Students’ organizations close to the ruling party have staged a protest against the rise in prices of petroleum products.

Students’ organizations affiliated to the Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Center, CPN-Unified Socialist Party and Janata Samajwadi Party staged a protest outside the Ratna Rajya Campus of Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmandu on Sunday.

The United Students Movement had demonstrated with cylinder gas. They have demanded the withdrawal of the price hike in petroleum products and the dismissal of Surendra Poudel, the executive director of the Oil Corporation.

Students have protested after the Nepal Oil Corporation recently increased the prices of cooking gas, petrol and diesel.
