High Minister Deuba’s request to spot the hidden skills of Nepali other people and delight

Kathmandu, Nov. 12: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that Nepal’s immense intellectual potential should be introduced to the world by bringing out the many talents hidden within the Nepali people and pride. On the occasion of the inauguration of the 36th Prajna Sabha of the Nepal Pragya-Pratishthan, Prime Minister Deuba, who is also the chief patron of the academy, said that no country, no matter how physically advanced, would not be able to achieve prosperity.

He said that the foundation established under the leadership of great poet Laxmi Prasad Devkota and scholarly personality has done important work in the field of language, literature, culture, philosophy etc. of the country. The Prime Minister also stressed on the need to produce academic materials as per the demand of the time. Stating that the construction of the Mahakavi Devkota Museum would be a tribute to Devkota, Prime Minister Deuba hoped that the meeting would take a decision that would have a far-reaching impact on the cultural sector.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale lauded the regularity of scientific studies and research even during the epidemic of Kovid-19. Speaking on the occasion, Satya Mohan Joshi, a man of the literary century, said that the foundation could contribute to the prosperity of the linguistic and literary field by publishing and re-publishing historical texts.

Former Vice-Chancellor of the Foundation, Bairagi Kainla, said that the Foundation has done a useful job by distributing identity cards to writers. Vice Chancellor of Nepal Sangeet Natya Pratisthan Narayan Bhakta Shrestha ‘Ryan’ and Vice Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts KK Karmacharya expressed their best wishes at the meeting.

Literary identity card distribution

At the ceremony, Prime Minister Deuba inaugurated the much awaited author / writer identity card distribution. The Prime Minister handed over identity cards to former member secretary and literary man Purush Joshi, patriarch Ganga Prasad Upreti, former patriarch Kainla and former member secretary Geeta Keshari. Member Secretary of the Foundation Jagat Prasad Upadhyaya informed that the distribution of identity cards would be carried out gradually on the basis of the applications received.

The meeting also saw the formal launch of the Foundation’s redesigned website. Arrangements have also been made for online booking of halls and sale of books and magazines on the website.रासस / File Photo
