More than 2,000 people have availed services at the two-day free heart test and health camp organized in Mathagadhi village municipality of Palpa.
The camp was organized by Save the Heart and Mathagadhi Village Municipality with the technical assistance of Manmohan Cardio Thoracic Vascular and Transplant Center and Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu.
“We have organized the camp in the village keeping in view the situation where some of the patients are unable to go for treatment and have to fight with the disease due to financial problems. Many people have availed the services in the camp,” he said.
A team of doctors led by Prada Bhagwan Koirala, chairman of the Nepal Medical Council and a cardiologist, conducted a heart test at the two-day camp on Friday and Saturday.
Sixty of those who underwent heart tests have been sent to Kathmandu after finding complex problems. Of them, 43 have to undergo surgery. ECG of 428 people and echo of 381 people have been done in the camp. During the test, the student was also found to have heart problems.
