Congress declares Siroj’s candidature for Kaski district secretary


October 29, Pokhara. Nepali Congress youth leader Siroj Vijay Koirala has announced his candidature for the post of district secretary of Kaski at the party’s upcoming general convention.

Leader Koirala said that he had given his candidature to purify the party even though he had a family background. “The Nepali Congress, which has a long history, also needs to improve. Change is needed. My candidacy is to show that it is possible to bring change in the country as the youth want, ‘he said.

Koirala accused the current politicians of creating disillusionment among the youth and said that it was necessary to save the lost legacy of the Congress. He reviewed that the Nepali Congress has been going through a difficult period for 46 years now.

‘The party is no longer run by the old, style, method, style. This is the need of the hour to change the old ways in a new way, ‘said Koirala.

Koirala said that if the Nepali Congress still does not conduct self-examination and cannot protect its cadres, the party will end. He said, “If there is no discretion in the selection of new leadership, if the current leadership line is maintained, the Congress will end.”

Koirala had also given independent candidature for the post of deputy chief of Pokhara metropolis in the local elections of 1974 BS. “There is a kind of dissatisfaction within the party leadership now. I have given free elections as a representative of those dissidents, ‘he said.

The district convention under the 14th general convention of the Nepali Congress is being held on November 25.
