October 29, Janakpurdham. The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority has stated that there were irregularities in the distribution of bicycles to female students by the state government under the ‘Let’s Educate Daughter, Save Daughter’ campaign.

Krishna Prasad Sapkota, head of the authority’s office in Bardibas, said that irregularities were seen in the purchase of bicycles during the preliminary investigation. “During the preliminary investigation, irregularities have been seen in the purchase of bicycles,” Sapkota told online news. “We have now started a detailed investigation.”

He said that a case would be filed in the special court if any irregularity was found during the detailed investigation. “We are investigating the details as there were irregularities in the beginning,” he said.

Stating that it would be looked into in detail as it is also a serious matter, he said that if any irregularity was found during the detailed investigation, a case would be filed in the court and he would go to Tameli instead.

A team of the authority raided the office of the Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers of Province 2 on September 29 and took under control the documents related to the purchase of bicycles.

Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut had protested after the raid by the authorities while his party Jaspa had staged agitation across the state.
