Rajiv Koirala has become the coordinator of the five-party mechanism in State-1
October 29, Biratnagar. The ruling five-party alliance in Province 1 has formed a high-level political mechanism. A few days after the formation of the coordination committee led by Ram Chandra Poudel at the center, a political mechanism has been formed in the state under the leadership of Rajiv Koirala, the leader of the Nepali Congress state one parliamentary party.
According to Indra Bahadur Angbo, leader of the CPN-Maoist Central Province 1 parliamentary party and Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning of the province, the meeting of the coalition held on Monday formed an all-party mechanism. The mechanism has leaders of parliamentary parties from all parties participating in the government.
The meeting also formed a task force headed by Congress MP Shekhar Chandra Thapa to decide the minimum common program of the government. The task force includes Maoist MP Dhiren Sharma, UCPN (Maoist) MP Rajan Rai, JSP’s Ram Chandra Tumba and Ashok Chemjong.
‘Vote for CM’
Monday’s meeting decided to vote for Chief Minister Rajendra Rai. Chief Minister Rai is taking a vote of confidence from the state assembly meeting to be held on Tuesday. Monday’s meeting decided to vote for Rai.
According to Angba, leader of the CPN-Maoist Central Pradesh 1 parliamentary party, after the meeting, all the parties have issued whips for voting in favor of the parliamentary parties.
There are 50 MPs in the five-party alliance participating in the government. In Province 1, which has 93 members, 47 votes are required for a majority. The main opposition party CPN-UML has 40 MPs and RPP has one.
