No irregularities had been noticed within the police clinic: Investigation Committee

October 29, Kathmandu. A committee formed to investigate the irregularities at Nepal Police Hospital, Maharajgunj has submitted an investigation report with the conclusion that no defect was found.

Coordinating Committee Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) Bishwaraj Pokharel handed over the report to IGP Shailesh Thapa Chhetri.

According to a member of the Pokhrel-led committee, there was no problem in purchasing hospital supplies. “The matter has already been investigated by two committees,” the member told Online News. “No flaws have been found.”

Instead, the committee has concluded that there is a problem between two senior officials of the hospital.

Junior Officer Dr. Saying that Asha Singh has been promoted to AIG, his rival Dr. Minraj Pathak was dissatisfied. According to the members, Singh also went ahead alone without taking the reader. He added, “There were complaints of irregularities during this dispute, but no problem was found.”

A complaint was lodged with the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority and National Vigilance Center alleging irregularities in the hospital.

Authorities had written a letter to the Home Ministry asking for an investigation. After that, as per the instructions of the Home Ministry, the Naxals had formed an investigation committee headed by AIG Pokhrel.
