Protesting judges cut up, 5 judges boycott discussions with Bar

Kathmandu, Nov. 12: The agitating Supreme Court judges are divided over the issue. On Monday, five judges boycotted discussions with officials of the Nepal Bar Association and the Supreme Bar Association. Among the judges who refused to participate in the discussion were Kumar Regmi, Tej Bahadur KC, Bam Kumar Shrestha, Manoj Kumar Sharma and Kumar Chudal.

Bar vice-president Raksha Basyal said discussions with 11 judges had failed to reach a conclusion. She said it was agreed to discuss it again tomorrow. The court has been agitating for cleansing for four years.

Judges are also in the non-cooperation movement without looking into the issue. Discussions between the agitating bar and the judge have started since Monday. On Monday, Chief Justice Jabra called for a formal dialogue.
