A ‘Sports Policy Conference’ is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu on November 19 and 20. The Nepal Sports Federation, which is close to the CPN-UML, has informed that the conference will be organized by holding a press conference in Kathmandu on Monday.
FNCCI President Ramesh Poudel said that the conference was being organized with the main objective of ending the policy hurdle for the overall development of the sports sector. According to the federation, the conference is expected to help in guiding the national level sports associations towards the cause of dissolution and disbandment. FNCCI President Poudel said, “One of the main reasons behind the lack of cooperation between the National Sports Council, the Provincial Sports Council, the District Sports Development Committee and the Local Sports Development Committee. Due to this confusion, some national sports associations have reached the point of dissolution. The Nepal Sports Federation is confident that this conference can provide a direction for resolving all these issues.
The conference will be inaugurated by CPN-UML Chairperson and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
It has been informed that the federation will manage Rs. 1.35 million for the conference. FNCCI President Poudel said that the management of transportation, accommodation and other expenses should be done by the participants themselves or the concerned associations and organizations.
