Lamjung: A young man who went for a walk in Tilicho Lake in the Himalayan district of Manang has died of leprosy. The deceased has been identified as Praveen Thapa, 23, of Suryabinayak Municipality-8, Bhaktapur. According to Manang Chief District Officer Rabindra Acharya, Thapa’s team had left Kathmandu on October 7 to visit Tilicho Lake.
He was taken back by friends from Tilicho base camp after he fell ill with a leak. Thapa, who was visiting Tilicho Lake (4,919 m), was rescued from Upper Manang by an Everest Air helicopter after hitting the lake.

Four passengers have died in an accident while visiting Kakani temple at Champadevi in Okhaldhunga district. He died on the spot in the accident that took place in Sunkaesi village municipality-9, Katunje.
The vehicle (Province 3-01-022 Cha 9694) carrying more passengers than its capacity had met with an accident. On the way to the temple, the vehicle fell about 600 meters from the road at Kusang near Jaubari of Sunkoshi Gaonpalika-9, according to police.
According to DSP Gavind Kafle of the District Police Office, three persons died on the spot and another died on the way to the hospital. Four critically injured people have been airlifted to Kathmandu. Others are being treated at local health facilities.
All those who lost their lives in the accident are in Siddhicharan Municipality. The deceased have been identified as Tulsa Magar, 17, Mithumaya Magar, 35, Shanta Magar, 35, and Khagendra Magar. Another person was also killed but his identity could not be ascertained.
They went to visit the temple together from the same village. Four people from the same village were killed and more than a dozen were injured in the accident. Ward Chairperson of Siddhicharan-10 Damaedar Dhamala said that all the relatives and neighbors were drowned due to the accident.
