Australian opener David Warner has been named the best player of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Warner was named Player of the Tournament for his performance in helping Australia win the T20 World Cup for the first time in Sunday’s final. Australia beat New Zealand by eight wickets to win the T20 World Cup for the first time.

Warner scored 289 runs in seven games, including three fifties, to help Australia win the title. Warner hit 32 fours and 10 sixes at a strike rate of 146.70. The average was 48.16. Warner played a total of 197 balls throughout the tournament. In the final, Warner was dismissed for 53 off 38 balls with four fours and three sixes.

Warner played a crucial 49-run innings in the semi-final against Pakistan with 3 fours and 3 sixes off 30 balls. In the group stage, he scored 89 against West Indies and 65 against Sri Lanka. He was dismissed for 14 against South Africa, 1 against England and 18 against Bangladesh.

After Warner, Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam claimed to be the best player. Babur has scored 303 runs in 6 games, including 4 half-centuries. At an average of 60, the strike rate is 126.25. Babar, who played a total of 240 balls throughout the tournament, hit 28 fours and five sixes. Pakistan lost to Australia by 5 wickets in the semi-final.

After losing the toss at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, New Zealand lost 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and scored 172 runs. Australia completed the target losing 2 wickets in 18.5 overs.
