21,000 loose WiFi hotspots, Mexico Town set global document

But there is one city in the world where free WiFi internet is available everywhere. The city is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as having the most free WiFi hotspots.

Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, has become the city with the most free Wi-Fi hotspots in the world. The Guinness Book of World Records awarded Mexico City a certificate of excellence on November 10.

There are currently 21,500 free WiFi hotspots in Mexico City. Guinness Book of World Records official Carlos Tapia handed over the Guinness certificate to Mexico City Mayor Claudia Scheinbaum.

In Mexico City, which has a population of about 9 million, people everywhere have access to free public WiFi. Wi-Fi is also free on public transport.
