5-party alliance to co-operate in by-elections, silence on court docket dispute (with press liberate)

Kathmandu, 30 October. The ruling five-party alliance will co-operate in the upcoming by-elections to the National Assembly, the House of Representatives and the state assemblies. Top leaders of the coalition said in a statement that there would be political cooperation in the by-elections.

The statement also claimed that the country has returned to the political fold after the formation of the coalition government. The main coalition government has made nationalism, promotion of democracy, defense of the constitution and promotion of good governance the main mantra, the statement said.

The statement was signed by Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, Janata Samajwadi Party leader Ashok Rai and Rastriya Janamorcha leader Durga Poudel.

However, the coalition has not commented on the current dispute within the Supreme Court. Nepal Bar has demanded that the parties should talk about the court dispute. However, the ruling coalition is silent on the issue.
