8 Biplav cadres had been arrested from Paekhara and visitors was once stopped

Pokhara, Nov. 12: The strike of Netra Bikram Chand Biplav-led CPN (Maoist) has affected Pokhara as well. Police have tightened security since this morning. Police have arrested eight people, including CPN-Kaski member Kazi Gurung and Akhil (Revolutionary) Prithvinarayan Campus Committee Vice-Chairman Yubaraj.

Kaski DSP Sundar Tiwari said that the arrested persons were being interrogated. CPN (Maoist) cadres have protested by burning tires in various chowks and roads of Paekhara.

The bandh has been in effect in Pokhara since morning. Public transport has come to a standstill and private vehicles have also been torn apart. The market is closed. Excess freight vehicles are running. News factory
