Indu Participant of the Fit

In the first WT20 match against Qatar, Indu Burma, the top batsman of the Nepali women’s cricket team, has been selected as the Player of the Match. Indu had hit a record half-century to give Nepal a resounding victory in the match played at the West End International Cricket Stadium in Qatar on Tuesday.

Nepal defeated Qatar by 119 runs in the first match. Indu retired with an unbeaten innings of 55 off 47 balls with five fours. Indu became the first player to hit a half-century for Nepal in the WT20.

After losing the toss, Nepal lost 4 wickets in 20 overs and scored 146 runs. Apart from Indu, Sita Ranamagar scored 39 off 33 balls with 5 fours and Sarita Magar scored 21 off 21 balls with 2 fours.

Chasing a victory target of 147, Qatar were all out for 27 in 11.5 overs. Nepal captain Ruvina Chhetri Belbase took 3 wickets for 1 run in 1.5 overs. Sita Ranamagar took 2 wickets for 2 runs in 2 overs with 1 maiden. Kavita Kunwar took 2 wickets for 6 runs in 2 overs. Karuna Bhandari took one wicket.

Nepal has taken a 1-0 lead in the three W20I series. Nepal will play its second match against Qatar on Wednesday and its third match on Thursday.
