Nepal simply defeated Qatar

Kathmandu: The Nepali national women’s cricket team easily defeated Qatar in the first friendly T20 cricket match. Nepal defeated Qatar by 119 runs in the first match of the three-match series in Doha on Tuesday.

Qatar were bowled out for 27 in 11 overs with five balls to spare. In front of Nepal’s sharp bowling, no Qatari player could play openly. Seven Qatari players were out for zero while no player was able to add a double digit.

Nepal’s captain Ruvina Chhetri took the most 3 wickets. Ruvina, who bowled 11 balls, took 3 wickets for 1 run. Similarly, Kavita Kunwar and Sita Rana Magar took 2 wickets apiece. Meanwhile, Karuna Bhandari took 1 wicket. Earlier, losing the toss and batting, Nepal lost 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and scored 146 runs.

Indu Burma was the top scorer for Nepal with 55 runs. Indu, who played 45 balls, struck five fours. Similarly, Sita Rana Magar contributed 39 runs.

Nepal will play three T20 games in Qatar. After this, the Nepali team will leave for the United Arab Emirates to play a global selection.
