Kathmandu, Nov. 12: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal has said that she is working on an action plan for the consumption of electricity in the country. She said this while addressing the 19th and 20th Annual General Meetings of Independent Power Producers Association of Nepal (IPPAN). She said that the ministry was serious about not wasting the electricity generated and urged the private sector to support it.
He reiterated that there was no problem in allowing the private sector to come up with the basis for international trade in electricity. The energy minister said, “I have said this before. You come with the basis and action plan. The ministry is ready to give permission. ”
The Energy Minister clarified that the government is aware of the trend of keeping rivers in bags as in the past. “We have heard a lot in the past about the trend of getting licenses for hydropower projects and not working,” he said. Not so with the electricity business. It is important to end the practice of taking permission but not doing anything, ”she said.
