Kathmandu, Nov. 12: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the government has paid special attention to the development and promotion of clean energy to solve the problems created due to increasing climate change. “We have not only created the problem of climate change, but we have also been affected by it,” he said. The development of clean energy is the need of the hour to solve this problem. ”
Addressing the 19th and 20th Annual General Assemblies of Independent Power Producers Association of Nepal (IPPAN) today, he stressed on the need to work for the solution of the problem of biofuels which is getting worse due to increasing floods, landslides and unseasonal rains. The Prime Minister said that there was a situation where the mountain was bare and that it would cause a big problem.
The Prime Minister said that the issue had been given priority in the recent International Climate Conference and that Nepal had clearly registered its vote. The Prime Minister informed that the government has moved ahead with the action plan to consume the electricity generated within the country.
He also mentioned that the government would formulate and implement a special action plan to promote electric vehicles and use induction cookers. The Prime Minister said, “Our country’s electricity should be consumed in Nepal. The government is ready to provide grants for that. ” The Prime Minister also assured that the government would provide all kinds of assistance to solve the problems in the energy sector.
