Kathmandu, Jan. 6 Newly appointed captain of the Nepali national cricket team Sandeep Lamichhane has said that he will play a key role in making Nepal a Test-recognized nation under his captaincy. Sandeep, who is currently playing in the popular Big Bass League in Australia, said this in an interview with the world-renowned cricket news agency Cricinfo today (Tuesday).
Sandeep said, “I aim to elevate Nepal beyond one-day recognition. We have all been saying the same thing over and over again, to play ODI World Cup and become Test nation. However, this goal is challenging. As long as I’m here as captain. We will do our best to become a Test nation. ”
Sandeep said that it was a happy moment for him to lead not only the 21 players and officials of the team but also 30 million Nepalis. “Despite the ups and downs of Nepali cricket, we are looking for a bright future. We will remove the disagreement off the field and perform well on the field and will be selected in the World Cup. We will move forward accordingly, ‘said Sandeep.File Photo: RN
