Six board contributors call for withdrawal of motion in opposition to cricketers

Kathmandu: Six board members of the Nepal Cricket Association (NCA) have demanded the withdrawal of action taken against four players. .

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the six board members demanded the withdrawal of CAN’s decision to keep national team captain Gyanendra Malla, vice-captains Dipendra Singh Airy, Kamal Singh Airy and Sompal Kami out of central contact for six months.

Earlier, CAN’s board meeting on 29 December had decided to remove captain Malla and vice-captain Dipendra from the central agreement for the first six months of 2021. Similarly, Sandeep Lamichhane was appointed as the captain of the cricket team.

“It is our belief that the Nepal Cricket Association should run according to the rules and regulations, financial transactions and other issues as mentioned in the constitution and operate in a transparent manner as per the action plan. If this has not happened in the Union, then we would like to draw the attention of the concerned bodies.

We also demand that instead of taking the initiative to provide prize money to the winners of the Tri-Nation T20 cricket tournament in Nepal, we take back the action taken against the national cricketers in a planned manner in the name of discipline, ”said a three-page long statement.
