Six CAN board participants call for withdrawal of motion in opposition to avid gamers

Six central members of the Nepal Cricket Association (NCA) have demanded to withdraw the action taken against the players.

At a press conference on Wednesday, CAN central members Rishi Ram Gautam, Amit Vir Pandey, Karan Mahatara, Mohammad Dawood Ansari, Sanjay Raj Singh and Chhumbi Lama (Rakhep representative) demanded to withdraw the action taken against the players.

He accused the national cricketers of being targeted in the name of discipline instead of taking initiative to provide prize money to the winners of the Tri-Nation T20 cricket tournament in Nepal.

In a press release distributed at the press conference, he said, “Let the Nepal Cricket Association run according to the rules and procedures, financial transactions, etc. should be conducted in a transparent manner as per the action plan as mentioned in the constitution.”

A board meeting of CAN on Wednesday sacked Gyanendra Malla as captain and Dipendra Singh Airy as vice-captain. It was decided to keep Sompal Kami and Kamal Singh Airy out of the six-month central agreement.
