Eire misplaced to USA by way of 26 runs

Kathmandu, Jan. 8 Ireland have lost by 26 runs to the United States in T20 cricket.

Chasing the target of 189 runs for victory, Ireland lost 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and managed to add only 162 runs.

Ireland’s Larkan Tucker added an unbeaten 57, with Paul Sterling scoring 31 and Shane Getkate 19.

For the United States, Saurabh Netravalkar, Ali Khan and Nisarg Patel took two wickets apiece.

Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, USA lost 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and made a total of 188 runs.

Gajanand Singh was the top scorer for USA with 65 runs.

Similarly, Sushant Modani scored a half century while Marty Kane added an unbeaten 39 off 15 balls.

Barry McCarthy was the leading wicket taker for Ireland with 4 wickets.

Also, Simi Singh and Wayne White took one wicket each.

The United States is hosting a cricket series against Test nations for the first time.

The home team USA has taken a 1-0 lead in the two-match T20 series.
