District Police Office, Lamjung has arrested a fugitive after six years. Police have arrested Rukesh Bishwakarma of Bensishahar Municipality-1, Udipur, after he was jailed for one year and 10 months.
A special team deployed from the District Police Office, Lamjung, arrested Rukesh from Bensishahar Municipality-8 on Wednesday, said Lamjung Police Chief DSP Krishna Bahadur Karki. A bus driven by Rukesh had hit a pedestrian in Kurintar of Chitwan district on July 6, 2006.
Rukesh was on the verge of being sentenced to life imprisonment by the Chitwan District Court on January 25, 2006. Rukesh, who is in custody, was produced before the district court in Lamjung on Wednesday and remanded in custody.
