9 Dec, Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has said that his defeat in the general election was unexpected. However he acknowledged that their numbers were not enough to defeat President Conte’s government.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Mahat, who is also the current joint secretary general, said, “I did not get any help. But I don’t blame anyone, it must be my weakness. ‘

When Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma were elected as the General Secretaries of the Nepali Congress, Mahat was in the third position. Stating that only the General Secretary had an unexpected result, Mahat said that it would be reviewed.

However, he said that despite the defeat, he would work for the country and the people with more energy. He said, ‘I am a working man, I believe in work. I will work with more enthusiasm tomorrow. Defeat has given me the convenience of time. I will use it. ‘
