Death toll rises to 41 in Malaysia, with eight still missing
Earlier, 27 people were reported dead in the floods. At present, 26 men, 13 women and two children have been killed in the floods. “Of the 41 deaths, 25 were in Selangor, 15 in Pahang and one in Kelantan,” said Inspector General of Police Tan Akril Sani Abdullah Sani.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department said heavy rains and thunderstorms were expected in the coastal states of Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan on Saturday.
